Angel Jewellery. The Dalai Lama’s Instructions for life.
Wednesday, May 8th, 2013Angel Jewellery. Silver and gemstone Angel Pendants.
Here at Angel Jewellery we take the view that most of us need a little help and inspiration at times. That is why I have created the Angel Pendants in so many different gemstones, as each one resonates with us in a different way, offering to shift energy and support change. I love this quote from the Dalai Lama. The following instructions embody much of my personal thinking regarding the purpose of my Angel pendants and necklaces.
Instructions for Life -
This is what The Dalai Lama said in 2006:
1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
2. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.
3. Follow the three R’s:
* Respect for self
* Respect for others
* Responsibility for all your actions
4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
6. Don’t let a little dispute injure a great relationship.
7. When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
8. Spend some time alone every day.
9. Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.
10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
11. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll be able to enjoy it a second time.
12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
13. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don’t bring up the past.
14. Share your knowledge. It is a way to achieve immortality.
15. Be gentle with the earth.
16. Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.
17. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
19. Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.

Love,

Angel Jewellery. Goals and Intentions. Helping Women.
Thursday, May 2nd, 2013Angel Jewellery. Goals and Intentions.
When i was a young girl my passion was to become an actress. I studied and gained much experience in this field at an early age, but a life on the stage was not what my father had in mind for his only daughter, and, even though I had won a place in a very prestigious English drama school, his disapproval of my chosen career left me without the support I needed to study.
Since then, my passion, of course, has been my beautiful family, and I now spend a good deal of my time with my grandchildren too, but more and more my attention is being focused on womens issues, and the inhuman discrimination they still suffer all over the world.
In this respect, Angel Jewellery, my jewellery company, has a goal. My wish is that, with my Angel pendants, I can raise money for charities which support women and children to be protected against gender based violence and discrimination, and to be educated. I am passionate about this and I know the Angels are supporting me.
Take a look at these frightening statistics, then let me know if you will join me, to make a difference
- Women perform 66% of the world’s work, but receive only 11% of the world’s income, and own only 1% of the world’s land.
- Women make up 66% of the world’s illiterate adults.
- Women head 83% of single-parent families. The number of families nurtured by women alone doubled from 1970 to 1995 (from 5.6 million to 12.2 million).
- Women account for 55% of all college students, but even when women have equal years of education it does not translate into economic opportunities or political power.
- There are six million more women than men in the world.
- Two-thirds of the world’s children who receive less than four years of education are girls. Girls represent nearly 60% of the children not in school.
- Parents in countries such as China and India sometimes use sex determination tests to find out if their fetus is a girl. Of 8,000 fetuses aborted at a Bombay clinic, 7,999 were female.
- Wars today affect civilians most, since they are civil wars, guerrilla actions and ethnic disputes over territory or government. 3 out of 4 fatalities of war are women and children.
- Rape is consciously used as a tool of genocide and weapon of war. Tens of thousands of women and girls have been subjected to rape and other sexual violence since the crisis erupted in Darfur in 2003. There is no evidence of anyone being convicted in Darfur for these atrocities.
- About 75% of the refugees and internally displaced in the world are women who have lost their families and their homes.
- Gender-based violence kills one in three women across the world and is the biggest cause of injury and death to women worldwide, causing more deaths and disability among women aged 15 to 44 than cancer, malaria, traffic accident, and war.

Angel Jewellery. ‘Make love not war” Silver Jewellery.
Monday, April 22nd, 2013Angel Jewellery makes love, not war.
These sentiments reflect in my Angel Pendants and necklaces, reminding us to keep the message simple and true.
“Make love not war” was used in the late 1960’s as an anti~war slogan, by those opposed to America’s involvement in the war in Vietnam. “Make love, not war” was also featured in two song lyrics, one by John Lennon, and another by Bob Marley.
Although many associated it with the free love movement, its message was slightly more serious than just another reference to the sexual revolution of the day. Rather than just leaving us dreaming of a utopian paradise where our children would grow up safe from the ravages of war, it proposed the concept that Love between our brothers and sisters, between all peoples and all Nations would be worth a try. I think it was sad that our generation was mis-represented, so much so that the important message and sentiments of ‘the peace and love generation’ became synonymous with indiscriminate sexual practices and associated with dubiousness. What a fate for our message of hope, love and community.
Lets try again, spread the word, act with love, now.

Angel Jewellery. Archangel Michael and Angels.
Saturday, April 13th, 2013Silver Angel Pendants and Archangel Michael necklace.
Silver Angel pendants and Archangel necklaces have been my main design focus these past few years, mainly because the Angels never seem to leave me alone; I see them almost everywhere. Today I visited the church of St. Michael and all Angels, in the town of Northampton. Some of the more recent renovations and additions to the church show the work of a local glass engraver. Two larger than life angels, in Art Nouveau style, are etched into the glass doors leading into the nave of the church, their etherial nature enhanced by the magnificent stained glass windows behind them.
The church of St. Michael and all Angels itself stands on a small circular mound, not far from the town centre of Northampton. The streets around St. Michaels mount are peaceful, and lined with huge ornamental cherry trees, right now covered in pink and white blossom, giving the elevated building a beautiful soft haze when approached from the lower road.
I wonder at the association with St. Michaels Mount in Cornwall. Here though, instead of the waters of the channel lapping around its perimeter, swathes of cherry blossom will fall and scatter about sleepy streets in a week or two, leaving the church mound floating in a vast ocean of pink petals. I wont be there to witness the vision, but I imagine Archangel Michael and all the Angels will be.

Angel Jewellery. Ask Angels to light your way.
Thursday, April 11th, 2013Angel Jewellery. Guardian Angel Pendants work all by themselves.
Angels are beings of the two most fundamental energies in the cosmos, light and love. Their purpose is to share their light with us and help humanity evolve. I use crystals in my Angel Jewellery because they vibrate at frequencies which are constant and reliable, and can therefore be used to form a resonance with compatible energies. Once a circuit has been established the crystal will stay locked in to the energy through a process of mutual reinforcement. The frequencies Angels inhabit is far more complex and far reaching than the human mind is capable of understanding at this point in time, but we can establish a human circuit through the power of thought and prayer, which the crystals will hold, forming a powerful link and locking us in to our chosen Angel, and their healing energy. This is the gift of Angel Jewellery. Wearing your Angel pendant with its appropriate crystal will work for you, holding your connection all by itself.
We are each powerful spiritual beings, and sparks of the Divine. Through our own free will we are seeking connection with the Angelic realms and experiencing more and more the expansion of light within ourselves and our world. In this way we are becoming the co-creators of peace and love and illumination.
Love and light.

I owe so much gratitude to my Angels, and all my customers, for the immense satisfaction I get from my work. Making the Kwan Yin Pendant was no exception, because it served to re-awaken in me the empowering and life changing connection with the divine feminine, through my research of the multivarious manifestations of the Great Mother Principal, which are evident in all era’s and all societies throughout the world.
The Palaeolithic Venus statues, St. Bridget of my homeland Ireland, Mother Mary, Rhiannan in Britain, Venus of the Romans, Ishtar, Isis and Astarte (the list is endless) all restored within me deep feelings of connection to all womankind, and aroused a new sense of comittment to restore in women that female sacredness, which has been the target of such brutal misogyny and sexism, since classical antiquity.
Kwan Yin or Guan Yin the Great Feminine, represents the female principles of universal and unconditional love, whose qualities include connection, peace, oneness, empathy, nurture, compassion, fertility, mercy, healing and abundance.
In the many beautiful portrayals of the Goddess Kwan Yin we see her surrounded by a variety of symbols; a dragon to represent ancient wisdom, a baby for the goddess as mother, a lotus flower for purity, a bird for fecundity, a book for the Dharma which she often recited, a bottle for medicine, a waterfall for compassion, (Kwan Yin cried tears of compassion when she saw the suffering of the world), a sprig of willow also signifying tears, a rice bowl for material abundance, pearls for wisdom, a sea serpent as a protector of sailors and a hand, cupped in the yoni mudra representing the universal feminine.
She is often depicted with a thousand arms and varying numbers of eyes, hands and heads, sometimes with an eye in the palm of each hand. In this form she represents the omnipresent mother, aware of all humanity in all directions simultaneously, extending her many arms to alleviate suffering with infinite extensions of her mercy. Angel of Truth, Integrity and Love. Gifts of Love.
Thursday, March 21st, 2013Angel Pendant. Silver & Topaz Necklace. Emotional Truth.
The ending of a love relationship can be one of the most painful experiences of our lives. I have been through one recently, and can declare this to be wholeheartedly true. In times like these I am so grateful to my Angels, and especially my Topaz Silver Angel Pendant, which I wear to remind me of my commitment to LOVE.
Lost Love hurts just the same wether you are 16 or 60, but this time I am handling it better; more consciously.
By being honest, really honest, about ME, I am offered a perfect opportunity to see my shadowy side, and my stumbling blocks to happy and fulfilling relationships. During this break up, I am witnessing my vulnerability, my lack of self love, my self-seeking, my fears and weaknesses, and on the flip side, my softness, my intuitiveness, my loyalty, my willingness, my tenacity, my ability to stay with my truth, my courage and my lovableness.
Previous relationship break ups were focused on HIM, the energy was focused around HIM, and what HE did, and it was all about blame and shame. This time I am keeping the focus on ME, and what I did.
This time I am telling ME the TRUTH about ME, and it is astonishing how this shift in thinking is helping, not only to get over a very painful heartbreak, but also to put me in line for creating the relationship of my dreams.
So my pain is a gift; an opportunity, a clue to who I really am, and the blueprint to attract what I really want in a love partnership.
Emotional pain is the most significant indicator of our blocks to love. ..so don’t waste it, don’t wollow in it, don’t medicate it, but instead honour it, embrace it, listen to it, be completely and unashamedly honest about it, ..
and it will show you
the way to Love.

Angel Jewellery. The Beautiful Opal Angel Pendant.
Monday, March 18th, 2013Opal Angel. Beautiful, Spiritual Jewellery.
The Opal Angel helps us to grow and appreciate ourselves. In this way, we find a love and appreciation of all creation.
Wearing an Opal Angel Necklace, you can expect to feel beautiful and see more of the beauty around you. The Opal gemstone is a very spiritual stone.
I am not a religious person, because Religion is exclusive, defines me, and puts me in a box. It makes someone right and someone wrong.
I prefer to see myself as being a spiritual person, because spirituality is expansive, inclusive and liberating.
The Religion of my childhood taught me that it was the only true Religion, and all others were wrong.
As a child I read about the consequences of this dogma, in the history books and the newspapers. It was not pretty.
All love, always,
limda.

Angel Jewellery. Unity.
Tuesday, March 12th, 2013Angel Jewellery. Rose quartz and Moonstone Angel Pendants.
Women’s organizations have played a central role in monitoring the implementation as well as the actual impact of laws to end violence against women, yet in these times of recession, we have seen a 50% cut back for key organisations which provide this vital support.
Despite the progress made in creating new legislation, women still suffer under patriarchal laws that provide them with few, if any, rights.
In some countries, women who have been trafficked are caught in a legal maze and may end up being punished for entering a country illegally, instead of being helped and protected!
Rape laws, for example, sometimes provide loopholes for perpetrators by dropping charges if the rapist marries his victim. Other countries may require a witness to a rape or domestic violence before a case can be brought to court, even though both types of attack rarely occur in public.
Laws that restrict women’s right to divorce or inheritance, or that prevent them from gaining custody of their children, or owning property, all serve to make women dependent upon men and limit their ability to leave a violent situation.
Here in Ireland women still do not have access to full reproductive rights. We are represented by a mere 16% in government, which means the decision making is still blatantly gender biased, even though United Nations constantly calls for equal participation of men and women in politics and leadership.
After International women’s day last week, listening to speakers from around the world, I realised something quite sinister operates at a subliminal level within women; women undermine women; women’s failure to support other women is one reason there aren’t more women at the top, or at many levels across the board actually.
As women, we have a duty to examine our own thoughts, personal behaviours and attitudes, to discover where we are unsupportive of other women. At a time when we so badly need unity, we must make changes, and choices about how we behave with each other; women must become champions for each other, in the workplace, in education and in the home, otherwise we are in danger of sabotaging the progress we have struggled so very hard to achieve.
Moonstone Angel Pendant. Femininity and Courage.
Friday, March 8th, 2013Moonstone Angel Pendant. Courge to be ourselves.
Its a long road back for women. Two thousand years of persecution and suppression in the hands of patriarchy make a woman weaker, but no less a woman. It is a miracle that even after generations of widespread violence against women we are still fighting, working, studying and having babies. Even after the sustained and brutal attack on the sexual and productive autonomy of European women under early capitalism. Even after the witch hunts, when hundreds of thousands of women were tortured and killed, including any woman peasant or artisan showing independence of spirit, especially women healers and midwives.
What is it about womanhood that is feared so much? Why would any religion teach a man to suppress and demonise his mother, his wife, or his own girl child.? Why do thousands of women loose their lives in domestic violence each year? Why is it that in war zones women are in more danger than soldiers?
So much of the oppression that women confront on a daily basis is a product of male insecurity; Wether it is the husband who beats his wife for looking at another man, or the family which forces a child to undergo female genital mutilation, it points to one startling fact; a fear of women’s sexuality.
The real problem women are facing now, is that women have absorbed this misogyny; they have internalised it to the extent that women fear woman; even hate women, and in a particularly pervasive way now hate themselves. We have a disdain for the very things which make up our womanhood…mothering, nurturing, caring; women should be helping women, including them, not oppressing them.
Untill we stop trying to be like our oppressors we will never begin to realise out true potential.
Angel Jewellery. Angel Ring. Gold Silver Filigree.
Friday, March 1st, 2013Gold Angel Ring in Filigree, by Angel Jewellery.
I have 2 designs of Angel ring now, each quite unique and beautiful in its own way. The gold filigree Angel ring is my favourite though, and the idea has taken a long time to bring to fruition, in fact the idea developed over several years. I wanted to make an angel ring with filigree wings, and for this I had to learn all about the ancient art of filigree.

This exquisite, lacy metal technique can be traced back 5000 years. Its tradition is represented in many styles, from Asian and Greek, to the Phoenician, Yemenite, Turkish, Norwegian and Russian. Filigree work is totally hand-crafted and requires great skill, and hours of concentration. It is one of the oldest and most beautiful of art forms developed by man. Its name, Filigree, comes from the Latin “Filum” (thread), and “Granum” (seed or grain). It is a delicate kind of jewellery metalwork, usually of gold and silver, made with tiny beads or twisted threads, or both in combination, soldered together and arranged in artistic motifs. It looks like delicate and intricate lacework, and seems to me a perfect way to represent the wings of an Angel. I make the ring in sterling silver, then cover it with 3 micro. of 22 ct. gold. The result is magnificent!

Angel Jewellery. Angels of Hope.
Thursday, February 28th, 2013The Peridot Silver Angel Necklace. Pendant of Hope.
Angels have been recorded in history by many different cultures throughout the world. Some scholars say that the earliest religious representation of angels dates back to the city of Ur, in the Euphrates Valley, c. 4000-2500 b.c
Without doubt, based upon archeological evidence and other prehistoric information, there were angels long before Christianity appeared on the religious stage. Angels are ancient, and our ancestors were well aware of their power to intervene in our human affairs, bringing us courage, freedom, comfort and hope.
Some years ago, Lin Evola, a painter, had a vision. She would melt down guns and the casings of nuclear weapons, and use the metal for sculpturing angels — peace angels. In the course of asking people to put down their weapons, she imagined that she would contribute to the process of creating peace in the world. Ms. Evola, who is now 50, has followed her vision of peace all over the world. She hopes that the angels will eventually find homes in Johannesburg, Jerusalem, Sarajevo, Belfast, Los Angeles and New York.
Hope is?
Hope is like a road in the country; there was never a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into existence. ~Lin Yutang

Angel Jewellery. Demons to Angels.
Wednesday, February 27th, 2013Angel Jewellery. Demons to Angels.
Yes, I often see the eyes roll back into their heads, its a weary gesture, “O my God, (cringe) she’s on about LOVE, and that dippy postitve stuff again!”.. but you know, I wonder do THEY wake up in the morning with the blues inside their head?..and if so, what fix do they go looking for?
When I talk about love and positive stuff and angels and meditation, its not because I’m a particularly deep and spiritual sort of girl.. no way. Its because… I wake up every morning with the blues inside my head too..and I go for MY fix too,..and, call me lucky, but the positive stuff works for me, floats my boat….and whats great is, its free, its always there when I want it, and I dont have to keep running up the road for more of it. In fact the more you use, the more you get, ..its a remarkably good deal, a totally awesome chemical.
What works for me is to imagine a beautiful stream of white light, which flows in through the top of my head, soaking my consciousness in pure liquid light. It flows all the way through my body, through my veins, muscles, bones and organs, filling every tiny cell, every atom. It takes literally 30 seconds using this visualisation, to change my mind from dark to light, fear to joy, demons to angels.
So please, its not that I am compulsively and excessively optimistic, I have to do this for my sanity. I am human, I need a little help, I need my chemicals, my fix, and what better way to get it than with light and love?
Have a great day.
Linda.
Angel Jewellery. Meditation Pendant.
Tuesday, February 26th, 2013ANGEL JEWELLERY. MEDITATION.
The Amethyst Angel
The Amethyst Angel Pendant calms the incessant babbling inside our mind, aiding meditation, quietude and serenity.
—–”As meditation deepens, compulsions, cravings and fits of emotion begin to lose their power to dictate our behavior. We see clearly that choices are possible; we can say yes or we can say no. It is profoundly liberating.” Eknath Easwaran
As I try to make my daily (well almost daily) practice of meditation a regular feature in my life, the benefits are already quite evident. I find that my babbling mind, the part which runs away with my serenity and feeds my fear, is loosing its position as director of the show. I see two minds, the babbling one, and the “one who sees” the babbling one. This is truly awesome, profoundly liberating as Eknath Easwaran says, because now I know I really do have a choice, in almost everything I think and do. Wow, !.

Filigree is an ancient art form used in jewellery making.
We have worked hard and traveled far, to learn this ancient jewelry technique, and now use it exclusively to make the Angel wings for our jewelry. I think you will agree it has Angelic qualities, and beautifully captures the essence of Angel Wings.
As with all our handmade Angel pendants, this one comes ready to wear, with an 18″ sterling silver chain. Not only that, we give it to you beautifully presented, (with a little printout describing the Angel), in our sumptuous Angel Jewellery satin lined box, so it is all ready for you to wear or to wrap and give to your loved one.

Angels and babies. Angel Jewellery.
Sunday, February 3rd, 2013Angels and Babies. Angel Jewellery.
Looking back on it all, having a family of seven children in the 70’s was pretty amazing, and a little outrageous in the light of those times. Don’t get me wrong, my children are my life,.. I just wonder sometimes how my Angels must have sighed.
Had i been living behind the great firewall of china, and unaware of the liberating times, I may have been excused. But listen, i was a child of the 60’s. I was educated for heavens sake, I grew up with television, radio, newspapers, and, by the age of 15, was well aquainted with feminist writers such as Dorris Lessing, and Betty Friedan. I was passionate about CND, I followed the progress of the feminist movement, the women’s social amendments campaigns in America, the civil rights, and the gender equality movements, the freedom of speech and the campaigns for world peace.
At a time when a huge percentage of young women, all over the world were challenging the traditional roles of women, coming out of the kitchen, declaring their independence, delaying marriage and planning their families with contraceptives, I was popping out babies to my hearts content. I loved my babies, so, turning my back on the values of mainstream society, I decided I was going back to living the simple life. This was my stand, my part, in the revolution of conscience.
I birthed my babies at home, without a midwife, (though my friend’s husband had delivered calves), and most times I hadn’t even visited a doctor. I loved every minute of it all, I felt confident and alive. I believed that healthy young women gave birth to healthy babies, easily. I had not a doubt in my mind that we would be perfectly well, and thankfully, we were delivered, safely, every time.
Without electricity, or telephones, without a kitchen, or a bathroom, without water from a tap, or food from a freezer, without a car, with barely any remnants of the 20th century save a dozen brand new, 100% cotton nappies my Mother gave me for my newborn, I left my white, middle class, professional parents, my nice comfortable middle class lifestyle and my place in the renowned Drama department at Bristol University, to live, and have my babies in a cow barn, on a small isolated farm, on the west coast of Ireland: a place known to have the highest rainfall in Europe.
Angels: (sigh).
This was my personal contribution, my “fingers up” to the status quo. In my young idealistic mind, I was taking action to achieve an ideal. I wasnt just sitting around and talking about it, I was living it.
And so I wished for,… for a better, safer world: a world with clean water and clean air, and wholesome food. I wished that our children might live without the fear of rape, and violence and war, and I longed for a deeper more spiritual source of happiness than the plastic, depersonalised money culture I had grown up in.
My wishes are the same today. Keep the dream alive, and the dream will come true.
“Idealists…foolish enough to throw caution to the winds…have advanced mankind and have enriched the world.” – Emma Golman.
Today I thank providence, and the Angels for looking after us. The idealistic dreams I had back then, of a better future for our world, were fired with the enthusiasm and foolhardiness and passion of youth. Curt Cobain said “the duty of youth is to challenge corruption”. Benjamin Disraeli said “We live in an age when to be young and to be indifferent can be no longer synonymous.”
Be the change you want to see in the world
do it now…act with love.

Silver Angel Jewellery, Angels with Wings.
Thursday, January 17th, 2013On the Silver Wings of Angels.
I love my friends. I’m fascinated by them. Without them life would loose half it’s meaning at least. I love the way these people are in my life and share their friendship. I am grateful to them, because their triumphs, their trials and their wisdom are my inspiration. These are my Angels, my Angels with wings.
Just as the butterfly is a symbol of change, so for me i suppose Angels truly are my source of inspiration. Their presence in my life frees me from limitations, reminding me of my connection to the everlasting, to the divine. The most impressive part of any Angel are the wings. I always look at the wings because Angel wings are symbols of unfailing support. Wings are divine energy. To have wings is to have perseverance, dedication and freedom to thrive and shine. Wings carry us when we can’t carry ourselves; with wings we rise upwards and onwards, when we need comfort they enfold us, and when we spread them out our wingspan is the exact extent of our aspirations and goals. Wings move us, transform us.
“I am awesome” they say “I am not a quitter”
If i were an artist and could paint an Angel, the face would carry the lines and furrows of wisdom, the body, shaped by struggles and triumphs, but the wings, ..the wings would be perfect, and strong, and golden, and unfailing, because wings are made with the energy of hope and love and god, and these things are eternal.
To have wings means I aspire to my higher self. With wings I am more, I can glide and fly. A big thank you to all my friends, my Angels, who help me to feel my wings, and inspire me to use them.
Love and blessings, and wings,
Linda.
